It is a Vietnamese dish traditionally consisting of pork, prawn, vegetables, bún (rice vermicelli), and other ingredients wrapped in Vietnamese bánh tráng (rice paper). They are served at room temperature, and are not deep fried. Summer rolls have gained popularity among Vietnam’s neighbouring countries and in the West as well.
Vietnamese summer rolls are considered to be a very popular appetizer among Westerners in Vietnamese restaurants. Light and healthy, refreshing and so good dipped in either our traditional fish sauce or bean and peanut chili sauce….uummm!
